About The Position

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Water Process Engineer in Dallas, TX. This role involves planning water quality evaluations, conducting bench and pilot tests, designing experiments and systems to investigate treatment effects, performing engineering design calculations, completing chemical dosing and storage calculations, sizing pumps, selecting process monitoring equipment, conducting engineering reviews for flood mitigation projects, reviewing flood damage reports, carrying out permitting and compliance assistance, preparing technical documents and presentations, and sharing project findings with various stakeholders. The position allows for up to 25% domestic travel and telecommuting is permitted from anywhere within the US.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field of study
  • 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Civil Engineer, or in a related occupation
  • Professional Engineering (PE) Licensure
  • Experience in completing water, wastewater, and stormwater utility projects
  • Water process planning, modeling, condition assessment, and design
  • Regulatory experimental design

Responsibilities

  • Plan water quality evaluations to meet project objectives which include investigating source water quality, treatment process efficiency, and distribution system water quality
  • Plan and conduct bench and pilot tests to evaluate water treatment
  • Design experiments and systems to investigate the effect of treatment on water quality and optimize the design criteria for full scale design
  • Perform engineering design calculations and desktop evaluations for different water treatment processes and scenarios
  • Complete chemical dosing and storage calculations, sizing of pumps, and selection of necessary process monitoring equipment
  • Conduct engineering reviews of applications for flood mitigation projects
  • Review and verify flood damage reports and calculations, engineering designs, and perform benefit-cost analyses
  • Carry out permitting and compliance assistance for projects through plant rerating, treatment modification, plant upgrades, and demonstration of performance
  • Prepare documents, draft responses to regulatory agencies, and work with utilities to identify deficiencies and meet compliance requirements
  • Complete the technical writing and preparation of presentation materials to share project findings with employee technical groups, clients, and water industry conferences
