About The Position

Clean Harbors is seeking a Water Plant Technician for our Water Remediation Group. The Water Plant Technician will work out of our facility in Kapolei, HI. This position is responsible for activities at customer sites and helping with onsite projects. Our group provides liquid and vapor filtration and other miscellaneous remediation site services. Shift: 12-hour shifts, 24/7 plant. OT required Office: 91-220 Kalaeloa Blvd Kapolei, HI 96707 Pay Range DOE: $25-30 per HR

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Valid Driver's License and clean MVR
  • Attention to detail
  • Computer savvy
  • Able to perform multiple tasks
  • Understands the manpower and equipment required to complete assignments
  • Available for 24 hour, on-call basis
  • Ability to work with little or no direct supervision and an aptitude to complete assigned work
  • Ability to pass background check will qualify individuals to work on government sites
  • Ability to pass federal level background DBIDS checks after hire are required, if this is not passed it will likely result in separation from the company, as it is a requirement to work at this facility

Nice To Haves

  • CDL B or A an asset but not required
  • Strong mechanical ability preferred
  • Knowledge of chemicals helpful
  • Knowledge of equipment repairs and preventative maintenance helpful
  • Knowledge of RCRA requirements/regulations helpful, training provided
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation DOT regulations, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) waste codes, manifesting and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDR) helpful, training provided

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to and ensures constant compliance with Health & Safety Compliance and regulations
  • Responsible for the safe and compliant execution of all jobs that they work on, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Assists the on-scene foreman/supervisor in managing large projects
  • Performs emergency response activities including, but not limited to chemical and water spills, etiological and biological contamination, equipment decontamination, etc.
  • Responsible for vehicle inspections, equipment inspections and Health & Safety inspections.
  • Ensures proper use of equipment and immediately notifies supervisor of any mechanical failures or problems with equipment
  • Assists in the field sampling activities and calibration of meters
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of Clean Harbors business, including, but not limited to running supplies, emergency response clean ups, etc.
