About The Position

This position involves performing a variety of duties to monitor and control the water treatment process. The operator will conduct chemical, physical, and visual analyses, adjusting operating parameters as needed under the supervision of the superintendent and/or chief operator. Responsibilities include performing integrity and safety tests, managing water flow, regulating and recording operational data, collecting samples, reporting on shift activities, maintaining chemical inventory, assisting with Standard Operating Procedures, preparing reports, and performing grounds maintenance and minor preventative maintenance.

Requirements

A High School Diploma or Equivalent
Valid Florida Driver's License at time of hire

Nice To Haves

Ability to obtain a Class "C" Water Treatment Plant Operators License within two (2) years (for Trainee position)
Possession of a Class "A", "B", or "C" Water Treatment Plant Operators License as issued by the State of Florida (for Operator position)

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of duties and monitors the treatment process by chemical, physical and visual analysis and adjusting operating parameters accordingly under the supervision of the superintendent and/or chief operator.
Participate in the performance of periodic plant operation integrity and safety tests to verify proper operation of plant process.
Routes flow of water at treatment plant.
Regulates and helps maintain records of flow, tank level, chemical feed rates, etc., between various stages of treatment.
Collects samples to evaluate treatment processes and records data from meters and gauges.
Briefs the operators, lead operator and water operations manager of activities performed, or situations encountered during shift operation.
Keeps inventory of chemical usages and dosages.
Assists in establishing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures.
Prepares written and verbal reports.
Performs various grounds maintenance and housekeeping duties as directed.
Performs minor preventative maintenance, as directed.
