About The Position

We are looking for someone to Check, adjust and repair chemical injection equipment; check turbidities in the plant and system; operate, assess, and maintain filter treatment operation effectiveness; check chlorination equipment; collect samples for analysis of water and run lab tests as needed; check pumps or booster stations, check wells for operation, productions, and water quality; maintain records and reports and operate computers; perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the job classification.

Requirements

• Knowledge of all types of operation and maintenance work on water supply, treatment, and distribution facilities
• Knowledge of the chemical processes involved in water treatment and relevant safety procedures
• Knowledge of wells and pump stations
• Knowledge of servicing, setting, and installation procedures for meters
• Knowledge of State and Federal water quality standards
• Knowledge of safety policies, procedures and practices
• Knowledge of computer operations and SCADA software
• Ability to interact effectively with the public and employees
• Ability to operate all necessary vehicles and equipment to meet the responsibilities of the job
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form
• Ability to drive a utility truck
• Ability to use a hydro lift, forklift, power tools, hand tools, water analysis equipment, and air compressor
• California Water Treatment Operator Grade T-1 or T-2 Certificate
• California Water Distribution Operator Grade D-1 or D-2 Certificate
• Possession of the appropriate California driver's license, or the ability to acquire one within ten days of appointment

• The OIT must obtain T-3 certification within the probationary period
