About The Position

Operates and maintains the facility field equipment, including performing tests on pumps, motors, and water, maintaining logs, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment. Performs duties essential to operate and maintain distribution and collection systems, including installing and replacing meters, repairing leaks, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on pipelines. This job role requires medical and other fitness for duty assessments that ensure the employee can meet the physical and technical demands of this job role while working around process equipment that handles hazardous substances associated with the Oil & Gas industry. These requirements may include: Performing duties in an office setting, at outdoor facilities, and in weather conditions appropriate to the assigned role and location. Driving a company vehicle and/or other motorized equipment. Climbing and descending stairs and ladders, working at heights, and performing tasks in confined spaces (e.g., kneeling, crawling, squatting, etc.) up to 33% of working time. Lifting and transporting materials and/or equipment up to 50 pounds and operating company-issued hand and power tools up to 33% of working time. Wearing required company-provided personal protective equipment for routine and emergency operations. Successfully completing all required training and Department of Transportation Operator Qualification evaluations. Adhering to all safety and environmental policies and standards.

Requirements

• Ability to be on your feet for several hours a day

Responsibilities

• Oversees plant activities on an assigned shift
• Assists with maintenance, engineering and construction work, special projects and contractors
• Utilizes SCADA to ensure proper process control
• Writes and reviews Job Safety Analyses
• Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly system checks at water treatment plants, pump stations, and distribution facilities
• Mentors and trains less experienced operators
• Assists regulatory compliance requirements are met and maintained
• Regularly gauges tanks and records oil inventory
• Monitors flows and pressures to mitigate loss of capacity
• Reviews maintenance requests
• May monitor work of contractors, ensuring completion and all safety procedures are followed
• Performs laboratory analyses to ensure adequate process control
• Provides data for monthly, quarterly and annual reports
• Provides excellent customer service, internally and externally
• Partakes in the implementation of preventative maintenance program
• Helps coordinate implementation and adherence of all safety programs
• Prepares work orders
• Initiates requisitions for tools, materials, equipment and services
• Performs routine monitoring and documentation of facilities and SCADA systems
• Monitors and regulates plant processes to meet water quality and quantity standards
• Collects water samples and ensures delivery of results to proper agencies
• Proactively inspects facilities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and prepares necessary repairs and maintenance schedules
• Devises maintenance plan and submits for review and approval to repair equipment
• Coordinates customer service responses
• Adds chemicals and ensures quality standards are met and maintained
• Makes sure balance on the system is appropriate for the volume
