About The Position

The Water Plant Mechanic is a dynamic role that involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment and facilities. On any given day, the Plant Mechanic may perform welding activities, program and install PLCs, calibrate, repair, and maintain instruments and control systems, purchase parts and supplies, and assist with the general maintenance of facilities and grounds. We are searching for a motivated individual who is willing to learn and work as part of our highly skilled team.

Requirements

Four (4) years of plant maintenance and repair experience.
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver's license.
Some assignments in this classification may also require possession of, or the ability to obtain a Colorado Class A Commercial driver’s license and/or a Water Operator's D License and/or Collections/Distribution I, II, III and IV certificates.
High School Diploma or G.E.D.; supplemented by specialized training in the areas of mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repair on water and treatment plants and related equipment and facilities.
Install, align, test, maintain, recondition, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and hydraulic systems, components and parts.
Replace piping and recondition valves.
Perform preventative maintenance inspections and servicing on equipment and facilities; pack, lubricate, clean, paint, and weld equipment.
Fabricate and weld parts and equipment; weld cracked or broken parts of ferrous and nonferrous metals; design, layout and fabricate new structures and parts including drilling, milling and lath work as required.
