About The Position

Operates and maintains water meter systems to ensure accurate measurement and recording of water usage. Responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and repairing water meters and related equipment. Collects data for regulatory compliance, performs routine inspections and coordinates with maintenance teams to address system issues. Ensures adherence to safety standards and maintains detailed records of operations and repairs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of related experience
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License.
  • Able to Obtain: Non-CDL DOT Certification.
  • Colorado Water Distribution Level 1-4.
  • Confined Space Entry Certification.
  • Hazard Communication Certification.
  • Trenching and Excavation Certification.
  • NIMS 700 & 100.

Nice To Haves

  • specialized training in water meter systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects, installs, maintains, repairs, or replaces water meters, meter setters, meter pits, curb boxes, automated meter reading (AMR) components and service lines.
  • Responds to customer service requests by answering questions, providing information, resolving complaints or problems.
  • Operates and maintains variety of service equipment and power tools.
  • Maintains records such as service orders, inspection reports, material control documents, map revisions, and daily logs.
  • Performs field service duties such as turn-on/off, pressure inspections, leak check, or high consumption check.
  • Locates and repairs water lines, curb boxes, valve boxes, and meter pits.
  • Troubleshoots, programs and reads meters and AMR components and service lines.
  • Uses a computer, tablet or cell phone for completing work orders, communications, time sheets and other records.
  • May participate in call-back and after-hours work.
  • Directs and oversees work of temporary employees as assigned.
