The City of Beaverton supplies safe and reliable drinking water to about 70,000 residents within Beaverton City Limits. Take the first step toward a fulfilling career in public utilities by joining the Beaverton Public Works team as a Water Meter Installer (classification: Utility Worker). Water Meter Installers will install commercial and residential water meters throughout the City of Beaverton as part of the city’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project. Installers also perform maintenance and minor repairs, respond to inquiries about water leaks and billing, and provide other general water system troubleshooting. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone enjoys the variety of a job that’s often out in the field, likes interacting with Beaverton residents, finds satisfaction in troubleshooting and problem-solving, and has a good eye for accurate record keeping. This is a full-time, non-exempt, SEIU-classified position. The position is limited duration, expected to last through December 2028. The schedule will be 4 10-hour days each week, with either Monday or Friday off. This recruitment may be used to establish an eligibility list to fill any additional positions in this classification for the next six months.
