WATER MANAGEMENT ENGINEER

FTD Solutions INCRio Rancho, NM
Onsite

About The Position

FTD Solutions is seeking a Water Management Engineer Lead to be the on-site lead at a major semiconductor client's campus in Rio Rancho, NM. This role is the primary FTD presence at the site, responsible for executing FTD's Active Water Management (AWM) program — driving water conservation, compliance, and circularity through data-driven modeling and stakeholder collaboration.

Requirements

  • Strong technical and analytical skills in water systems, wastewater, and water reclaim/reuse.
  • Comfortable working on-site within a client environment, building relationships and driving results through collaboration rather than direct authority.
  • Ability to translate complex wastewater and water reclaim data into clear insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly organized and self-directed — able to manage recurring deliverables, meetings, and reporting with minimal supervision.
  • B.S. Degree in chemical or environmental engineering, or equivalent education.
  • 2–5 years of engineering work experience in water, wastewater, or related fields preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with water balance modeling, digital twins, or similar data-driven engineering tools is a plus.
  • Background in chemical or environmental engineering with exposure to semiconductor, industrial, or municipal water systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead deployment and ongoing operation of the water management program at the client's campus, including wastewater systems and reclaim/recycle initiatives.
  • Serve as the on-site FTD representative embedded within the client's facility, acting as the primary liaison between the client's water management team and FTD's global program.
  • Own and operate the site's water management model (WMA digital twin), including monthly baseline updates, scenario modeling, and water balance reporting.
  • Lead the weekly Site Water Management Group (SWMG) meeting — tracking KPIs, documenting actions, and driving accountability with client stakeholders.
  • Perform wastewater and water reclaim scenario analyses to support operational decision-making and conservation opportunities.
  • Coordinate semi-annual water chemistry sampling programs, including sampling plan development, laboratory coordination, and data upload to the WMA platform.
  • Develop and maintain site-specific KPIs and generate quarterly performance reports for client leadership.
  • Support identification and development of water conservation and reclaim opportunities, including preliminary work packages and high-level ROI analysis.
  • Manage client access to WMA software and provide training and technical support to site personnel.
