Position SummaryThe WaterJet Operator is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating waterjet cutting equipment to produce precision parts in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role requires the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and ensure efficient, accurate production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Experience operating waterjet cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to program and run jobs independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet production deadlines
  • Must be available to work nights, overtime and weekends as required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with nesting software and programming for material optimization
  • Background in machining, fabrication, or metal processing
  • Experience working with tight tolerances and complex parts

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate waterjet cutting machines to produce parts to specification
  • Work autonomously to plan, prioritize, and execute cutting operations based on production requirements
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
  • Perform material layout, nesting, and efficient use of raw materials
  • Inspect finished parts to verify dimensions, tolerances, and overall quality
  • Make adjustments to programs and machine settings to maintain accuracy and efficiency
  • Perform routine maintenance and ensure equipment is operating properly
  • Identify and troubleshoot machine or production issues and communicate with supervision as needed
  • Maintain accurate production and job records
  • Ensure work area is clean, organized, and safe at all times
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and efficiency
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
