About The Position

We are seeking a new Water Infrastructure Design Engineer to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. As a Water Infrastructure Design Engineer, you’ll join a team of infrastructure solutions experts to solve our client’s ever-evolving project needs. This opportunity will be located in our Chicago or Downers Grove, Illinois offices and could have potential to by hybrid depending on the specific client, project and team needs.

Requirements

Four-year degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering field
Professional Engineering (PE) licensure
6-12 years of experience in design and/or construction services of water linear infrastructure
Experience with design of water infrastructure focused projects such as pump stations, water transmission and distribution systems, feeder mains, groundwater wells, etc
In-depth knowledge of water industry best practices and standards
Experience in the preparation of contract documents, including drawings and specifications, for complex water projects
Strong technical and entrepreneurial competencies, as well as the ability to expand existing client relationships and to establish working relationships with new clients
Demonstrated project delivery/execution experience, including managing client expectations and satisfaction, technical teams, project financial management, resource management, change order management and client invoicing/payments
Ability to serve as the technical liaison between the project owner and a design team
Excellent organizational skills
Active engagement in professional industry organizations, including committees
Have a team player mindset with the ability to communicate proficiently in written and verbal forms

M.S. degree in related engineering field
Project Management Professional (PMP) or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

Work on and deliver projects related to drinking water engineering services to a variety of clients in the Midwest and South regions
Deliver technical excellence in preliminary designs, final designs, asset management, program management, bid assistance and services during construction for water infrastructure
Commit to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve client’s toughest challenges
Lead preparation of engineering reports, provide support services during construction, and a variety of other related assignments
Mentor and help support the growth of staff through both professional and technical oversight and support
