About The Position
Asphalt Green’s Upper East Side campus is seeking enthusiastic, engaging, and certified Water Exercise Instructors to lead a variety of aquatic fitness classes, including but not limited to Hydro Fit, Warm Water Exercise, and Deep Water Running. Opportunities are available on weekdays and weekends.
Requirements
- Current Water Exercise Certification required.
- Current CPR/AED Certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience teaching group aquatic fitness classes strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Have experience teaching water exercise classes in a group fitness setting.
- Effectively incorporate aquatic equipment such as aqua dumbbells, barbells, noodles, and other training tools into class programming.
- Provide ongoing feedback and encouragement to participants while maintaining a positive coaching approach.
- Demonstrate exercises and movements clearly, safely, and effectively.
- Possess a strong movement and coaching skill set, with the ability to quickly identify and correct movement deficiencies using concise and effective cues.
- Be comfortable using a microphone while teaching classes.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for participants of all fitness levels.
- Understand that empathy, encouragement, and relationship-building contribute to both participant success and class retention.
- Assist with the setup, breakdown, lifting, and movement of class equipment as needed.
