About The Position

Under the supervision of the Director of Wellness, the Water Exercise Instructor will ensure that the patrons have a safe and enjoyable experience while using the equipment and facilities on the Pool Decks. They are responsible for monitoring the area during operating hours, enforcing safety guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and promoting a friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the Pool areas.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with YMCA staff, employees, members, and program participants.
CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required
Must have current Water Exercise Certification [ACE, AFAA, AFPA, AEA, Burdenko, and AQUA ZUMBA (for Shallow Water.)]

Gain experience in the fitness industry and develop safe Water Exercise Instruction and customer service skills
Interact with a diverse group of people and build relationships with Water Exercise patrons.
Proactively builds relationships with the YMCA population.
Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Develop problem-solving skills by resolving conflicts and responding to patrons' concerns.
Work collaboratively with a team of like-minded individuals dedicated to providing excellent customer service.
Monitors, organizes, and puts away needed class equipment.
Reports damaged equipment to supervisor.
Maintains records as required and supports studio closet/equipment area organization and inventory.
Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
