In your role as the Water Department Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for the design, operation, and continuous improvement of Samsung Austin Semiconductor's ultra-pure water (UPW) and industrial water treatment (IWT) systems. You'll lead safety-focused initiatives, ensuring that all water handling processes comply with local, state, and federal regulations as well as Samsung’s internal EHS standards. By overseeing capital and capacity projects, you'll participate in equipment selection, system layout, and vendor negotiations to expand water capacity. Lean principles are applied to equipment‑ and part‑management to reduce waste, increase reliability, and improve overall water‑usage efficiency. In addition to strategic oversight, you'll support operations and maintenance teams by guiding FMCS alarm response, coordinating planned and unplanned maintenance, and developing the annual water‑related expense budget. Also, you'll lead safety and quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and process uptime, while driving a culture of learning, employee development, and job satisfaction within the water engineering team. By anticipating future fab water demands, championing innovative treatment technologies, and aligning with Samsung’s sustainability goals, you will ensure robust, compliant, and cost‑effective water services that enable world‑class semiconductor production.
