The Water Laborer/Groundman is responsible for preparing and cleaning construction sites, loading and unloading building materials, operating equipment and machines, and helping craft workers with their duties. This position supports the Construction team and works with personnel within the department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • 1 year of water pipeline experience.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 or more years of water pipeline experience.
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Responsibilities

  • Support crew with handling and joining water pipe.
  • Fit pipe that is ditched or drilled in the ground.
  • Ensure every joint meets quality standards.
  • Keep tools in complete working order.
  • Locate utilities by hand with a shovel and probe.
  • Manage inventory on the truck.
  • Teach other employees how to join pipe to the correct specs.
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
