As a Utilities Maintenance Technician for the Wastewater Division, you will be responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, construction, and repair of the City's wastewater collection systems. This includes working with sewer lines, lift stations, and related infrastructure to ensure safe and reliable wastewater services for the community. The City of Grand Junction Wastewater Division provides wastewater collection services for about 30,000 customers. Our system ensures the safe and efficient transport of wastewater from homes and businesses to treatment facilities, helping protect public health and the environment. The Wastewater Division has a staff of dedicated employees working together in areas such as Collections Operations, Lift Station Maintenance, System Inspection, and Customer Service in order to provide excellent service to our community. Our employees are responsible for monitoring and maintaining hundreds of miles of sewer line, numerous lift stations, thousands of manholes, and the infrastructure necessary to support the City’s wastewater collection system. This position is a safety sensitive position, which means you will be subject to random drug screens due to the nature of the work performed.
