About The Position

The Supervisor is responsible for all operational activities within the department. This position is located at 6457 Fly Rd. East Syracuse, NY 13057. The role involves supervising the daily wastewater treatment operations and compliance, including managing direct reports across all shifts, conducting site inspections, overseeing waste generation and manifesting, and ensuring adequate inventory of spare parts and chemicals. The Supervisor will also act as a liaison with environmental contractors, schedule and assign work, provide technical assistance, troubleshoot issues, and participate in safety meetings and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives. This role requires a strong focus on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, including managing hazardous waste and emergency response efforts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • 5 years of management experience
  • Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC
  • Ability to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents
  • Recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation
  • Understanding and following authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL)
  • Understanding the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US
  • Managing vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the daily wastewater treatment operations and compliance through effective selection, training, and evaluation of employees through effective delegation and follow-up tasks.
  • Conducts daily site inspections of the facility.
  • Oversees waste generation and manifesting.
  • Conducts monthly inspections in conjunction with management.
  • Ensures spare parts and chemicals are inventoried and in-stock for compliant operation.
  • Acts as a liaison with contractors who come on site for environmental purposes.
  • Schedules and assigns work within the unit to regulate workflow and meet required schedules.
  • Provides technical assistance and supervision throughout the department.
  • Works with engineering on miscellaneous troubleshooting on an hour-to-hour basis as needed.
  • Identifies problems in product, equipment, quality, safety and/or employee relations.
  • Conducts monthly toolbox safety meetings, attends supervisors' safety meetings, and orders safety products.
  • In conjunction with the EHS manager, schedules, generates agendas, and discusses topics at operations meetings.
  • Participates in current engineering projects, statistical product controls, and preventative maintenance.
  • Responsible for machinery yearly calibrations, scheduling, PMs, audits, customer requests, ISO 9002, and safety.
  • Trains all waste treat employees on new and existing O&M procedures.
  • Tests procedures to see that they are current and being followed.
  • Updates departmental procedures, signs off employees, and maintains training records.
  • Responsible for meeting department goals, corrective actions, and department cleanliness.
  • Generates, accumulates, and handles hazardous waste generated in daily operations and directed by the EH&S Manager.
  • Responsible for environmental, safety, and general housekeeping of the department.
  • Ensures adherence to the quality and continuous improvement policy of the department.
  • Responsible for emergency response efforts, and evacuation of building personnel, and responsible during an emergency.
  • Reports all accidents, near misses, and safety concerns.
  • Performs job duties with the required and appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Participates fully in safety training and understands and follows directions identified in the Job Safety Analysis, PPE Assessments, Material Safety Data Sheets, and all Safety Procedures and alerts.
  • Ensures all necessary documents, files, and employee records and information are protected and kept confidential.
  • Facilitates and attends meetings, communicates regularly with managers and supervisors, suggests and composes procedural changes, attends special training, maintains a clean, safe work environment and communicates safety hazards and issues to supervisors.
  • Maintains and approves timekeeping for direct reports.
