About The Position

GFT is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Process Engineer to join our Water team! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Denver Colorado office. The Water Design Engineer will assist in the planning, design, and construction of water, wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include conducting site visits, preparing reports and design documents, reviewing development and stormwater plans, supporting permitting efforts, and performing construction observation and field services.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• 1-3 years’ of related experience in water/wastewater engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to assist in/conduct effective client presentations and prepare written reports.
• Experience working with municipal and private utilities.
• Physically able to perform work in the field.
• Team player possessing strong planning and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of BIM, Civil 3D, GIS, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling or other specialty engineering software.
• Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite and use of standard engineering software.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, or the ability to obtain Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification within 3 months of hire required.

Nice To Haves

• Progressive experience in evaluation, design, permitting and construction administration of infrastructure improvements will be favorably considered.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the planning, design and construction administration of water, wastewater and municipal infrastructure facilities/projects
• Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections, and assist with data collection and compilation for utility infrastructure projects
• Prepare reports
• Develop design plans, specifications and cost estimates
• Review Subdivision, Land Development, Grading and Zoning plans, including review and development of Stormwater Management and Erosion and Sediment Control plans
• Prepare federal, state and local permit applications
• Perform construction observation and field engineering services
• Prepare grant/funding applications
