About The Position

We are currently seeking a hands-on, safety-minded Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to run day-to-day operations of the on-site WWTP at an industrial manufacturing facility. This is a great opportunity for a mechanically inclined, detail-oriented operator who takes pride in ownership of a critical system and wants long-term stability with a growing company. This position works 8 hours per day on a rotating schedule of 7 days on and 7 days off. $28-32 per hour, depending on experience

Requirements

  • Ability to work 8 hours per day on a rotating 7 day on / 7 day off schedule, which may include some holidays.
  • Mechanically inclined with solid technical troubleshooting instincts around pumps, valves, and control systems
  • Comfortable working from a control panel or computer interface to monitor and adjust equipment
  • Basic math skills to accurately read and interpret levels, temperatures, and gauges
  • Must hold a current telehandler (lull) specific powered industrial truck certification, or be able to obtain one
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently with minimal direct supervision

Responsibilities

  • Operate the centrifuge (decanter) system, including start-up, shutdown, and basic valve adjustments
  • Monitor centrifuge performance and discharge quality throughout operation
  • Monitor sludge basin and tank levels throughout the shift
  • Operate sludge pumps as needed to transfer material
  • Manage solids disposal, including dumping solids and monitoring dumpster levels
  • Operate a small telehandler (lull) to move product out of the warehouse, typically weekly
  • Maintain general housekeeping standards
  • Complete daily inspection sheets and maintain accurate operational records
  • Maintain daily communication with facility staff regarding equipment status and issues
  • Report abnormal conditions, equipment failures, or safety concerns immediately
  • Follow all facility safety rules, PPE requirements, and permit-to-work procedures
