About The Position

As a Wastewater Treatment Operator at Nexkemia Petrochemicals Inc., situated in Mansonville in the Eastern Township you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our wastewater treatment processes. Established in 2008 in Mansonville, Nexkemia specializes in the manufacturing of expandable polystyrene (EPS) beads, serving a diverse client base in North America. You will be responsible for optimizing and maintaining all facets of the wastewater treatment process, including primary, secondary, and tertiary treatments, while adhering to environmental standards and safety protocols. Responsibilities

  • Ensure that safety standards are met daily and that housekeeping is performed in all sections of the wastewater treatment plant.
  • Follow established procedures (ISO, JSA, LOTO, etc.).
  • Optimize and maintain all sections of the wastewater treatment process (primary, secondary, and tertiary). Perform daily analyses and take monthly samples according to environmental standards required by the government.
  • Treat water entering the site by maintaining and using reverse osmosis and electrodialysis demineralization equipment.
  • Fill out maintenance requests for the maintenance department as necessary.
  • Maintain and calibrate all water treatment equipment and instruments.
  • Troubleshoot issues with wastewater treatment as needed.
  • Provide feedback to the supervisor regarding problematic situations on-site.
  • Input data into the computer and update relevant reports.
  • Maintain an inventory of all chemicals, chemical mixtures, and equipment in the Water Treatment sector.
  • Implement and support any new projects.
  • Assist the delivery driver during deliveries of caustic and ferric sulfate used in water treatment.
  • Help with screen changes during grade changes.
  • Perform department health and safety inspections at the end of each month.
  • Perform any other tasks as requested or as needed within the scope of expertise.
  • (Optional) Participate in various committees (Health and Safety, First Aid).
