Wastewater Treatment Operator (or Trainee)
About The Position
Woodard & Curran is seeking a Wastewater Operator or Operator Trainee to join their team at the Provincetown Wastewater Treatment Facility. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the treatment plant and collection system, thereby protecting the region's valuable water resources. Requirements
- Ability to obtain a Massachusetts "Full" Municipal Wastewater Treatment Operator License within one year of hire (Operator-in-Training licenses are welcome)
- Ability to obtain a Massachusetts 1B Hoisting License
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to safely access tanks, manholes, and other confined spaces in accordance with established safety procedures
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to successfully complete a DOT background check, DOT physical, and drug screening
Nice To Haves
- Two years of wastewater treatment operations experience
- Experience with wastewater collection systems
- Basic mechanical maintenance skills, including pumps and valves
- Technical or vocational training in a related field
Responsibilities
- Operating and monitoring treatment process equipment
- Performing routine maintenance on plant systems and equipment
- Conducting laboratory testing and sampling activities
- Supporting collection system operations
- Maintaining facility grounds and overall plant appearance
- Responding to operational issues and helping ensure regulatory compliance
