About The Position

Build a hands-on career in industrial wastewater treatment with ProChem. ProChem is hiring a responsible, safety-minded and self-motivated Wastewater Treatment Operator to operate and maintain a comprehensive industrial wastewater treatment and reuse system at our customer's facility in Elkin, North Carolina. This is a strong opportunity for someone with industrial, mechanical, maintenance, chemical handling, or water/wastewater treatment experience; or for a dependable candidate ready to learn through on-the-job training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Reliable commute to the work location in Elkin, NC required
  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOP), and safety requirements
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to learn technical processes

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical ability preferred
  • Experience in an industrial setting preferred
  • Experience with chemical handling (corrosives), pumps, fluid handling equipment, electrical systems such as controls or instrumentation preferred
  • Knowledge of wastewater or water sampling procedures preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings preferred
  • Experience with DAF units, ring clarifiers, belt presses, membrane filtration or sand filtration preferred
  • North Carolina Physical/Chemical Wastewater Operator license preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor industrial wastewater treatment and water reuse systems according to standard operating procedures
  • Perform regular equipment rounds, system checks, and data recording
  • Collect water samples for testing and support process control activities
  • Respond to system alarms and troubleshoot operational issues
  • Change membranes, calibrate instruments, replace filters, and support preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Load, unload, and organize stock items such as chemicals and filters using a forklift
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Follow safety, PPE, quality control, ISO, EPA, and site-specific procedures
  • Provide professional, courteous support to the customer and work with a solutions-focused mindset
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through training, certifications, company events, and industry resources
