We boldly go. Where is the work: On-Site (5 days) Position Overview Thermo King has an opportunity for a Wastewater Treatment (WWT) Operator at our Greenville, SC location. WWT operators perform technical duties related to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS). A WWT operator runs equipment, controls the processes, and monitors the facility to treat process wastewater and convert back to a safe, permit-required level, before discharge into our local water treatment facility.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Some college helpful
  • Wastewater Operator License Class “B” level or higher. (Thermo King will provide additional training and licensing as required).
  • Must have a working knowledge of lab equipment
  • Must be self-directed and able to adjust priorities accordingly, without being prompted, based on risk and business needs.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, including any weekend work
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow regulations and other process procedures
  • Demonstrated attention to detail while documenting process information
  • A high level of integrity is critical, as well as strong complex problem-solving and excellent listening skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operates and maintains water and/or wastewater treatment equipment, ensuring compliance with state and federal environmental protection limits
  • Obtain water samples and perform testing to determine proper chemical feed rates
  • Understanding of basic water treatment methods and desired outcomes
  • Ensure safety standards and permit requirements are met
  • Inspect, clean, and perform preventative maintenance on treatment plant equipment on a regular basis
  • Monitors equipment for potential failures and submits maintenance request for any needed repairs.
  • Monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges, and lab equipment
  • Ability to interpret, as well as stay current with environmental laws and regulations
  • Develop pro-active and effective operating procedures
  • Maintains detailed documentation of operations and other recordkeeping as required
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards with equipment and work area
  • Must be able to define problem areas, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs including excel, word, power point, outlook, and internet explorer.
  • Perform other duties as they pertain to Environmental, Health, and Safety.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned including those to assure safe, efficient operations of the plant.
