About The Position

The Onsite Wastewater System Technician operates and controls systems of machines used to transfer or treat water and wastewater, including through control boards. This is a second-shift position scheduled Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., with possible overtime on Fridays as needed. The technician operates and maintains the treatment plant, monitors and records operating conditions and discharge levels, collects samples, conducts process tests, maintains equipment, and performs housekeeping in the treatment areas.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Licensed forklift operator.
At least 1 year of wastewater or pretreatment experience in a manufacturing environment.
Detailed and hands-on oriented.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain the treatment plant, controlling flow and adjusting valves.
Inspect treatment plant probes, pumps, filters, tanks, and controllers daily.
Observe operating conditions and interpret meter and gauge readings and test results to determine requirements.
Maintain records of the plant and discharge levels.
Collect weekly samples for analysis.
Conduct sampling in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Conduct process tests to detect heavy metals and determine pH ranges.
Monitor sludge levels in process tanks and the filter press, and perform necessary routine maintenance.
Assist with mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance of process equipment.
Perform general housekeeping and 5S cleanup of the building and grounds, including the west pad, wastewater treatment system and its process stages, and the 15-stage pretreatment system as defined in the SOP.
Record daily treatment plant readings and water meter readings in specified areas throughout the production facility.
Perform other duties as assigned.
