Requirements

  • Intermediate Computer Skill (i.e. Word, Excel, etc).
  • Ability to work well with people.
  • Communication skills are a must.
  • Multi-tasked Individual.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • 3 years WWTP operations experience.
  • Prior permit reporting experience.
  • WWTP operator license/certification.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate water and wastewater stream characteristics and communicate observations verbally and in writing.
  • Monitor and evaluate the treatment process, understanding the chemical and biological sciences involved.
  • Collect samples, perform laboratory analyses, and interpret results.
  • Maintain detailed logs and records of system performance, testing results, and rounds.
  • Ensure effective and efficient water and wastewater plant performance and compliance with WWTP permit standards.
  • Respond to trends that threaten permit standards.
  • Perform required state/local permit reporting.
  • Regulate the flow of wastewater through the plant by controlling equipment and monitoring meters and gauges.
  • Perform timely routine maintenance on plant equipment components and schedule/perform service according to preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Operate a variety of tools and equipment, and perform general plant cleaning and grounds maintenance.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with external agencies.
  • Perform periodic rounds of the main facility, focusing on drain systems and water flows.
  • Continuously improve the operation of the facility.
  • Assist in finding and implementing water savings and chemical reduction measures.
  • Maintain WWTP knowledge by attending company-offered training.
  • Perform various tasks involving the responsibility of the food safety and quality of company products.
  • Perform assigned duties in assigned areas of responsibility with minimal supervision and following "GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICES".
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Maintain records and logs as required.
