About The Position

This position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. Nisga'a Tek is committed to high-quality service to those who defend us, ensuring mission assurance and execution for customers and warfighters by providing intelligence, IT, cyber security, training, logistics, administrative, acquisition, and background investigation services. The Wastewater Operator will provide support to the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) by performing daily operational checks, equipment readings, sampling, testing, process-control adjustments, and required documentation. This role involves preparing and maintaining operational logs, maintenance records, sampling records, compliance records, and other required reports.

Requirements

  • The operator must maintain all required state certifications/licenses in active and good standing status throughout performance.
  • The operator must comply with all applicable permit requirements, environmental regulations, customer procedures, safety requirements, and facility access requirements.
  • Arizona ADEQ Grade 4 Wastewater Treatment Operator certification/license, current and in good standing.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Wastewater Collection certification may be required or preferred depending on final SOW/permit responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, inspect, and maintain assigned water and/or wastewater treatment systems in accordance with state, federal, permit, and customer requirements.
  • Support or perform permit compliance reporting, DMRs, sampling reports, and related submittments as assigned.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and repair of assigned treatment equipment, pumps, valves, piping, tanks, controls, gauges, chemical-feed systems, and related utility equipment.
  • Identify operational deficiencies, equipment issues, compliance concerns, safety hazards, or material shortages and notify the appropriate Government/customer personnel.
  • Use Government-furnished tools, PPE, supplies, materials, and equipment as required to perform the work.
  • Coordinate with Government staff, outside repair contractors, and other support personnel when larger repairs or specialized contractor support are required.
  • Follow all lockout/tagout, confined space, chemical handling, PPE, and site safety procedures.
  • Maintain professional conduct, dependable attendance, accurate documentation, and safe work practices.
