About The Position

We are seeking a Wastewater Operator for assignment in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The selected candidate will perform any combination of tasks pertinent to controlling operations of a wastewater treatment plant. Hours are Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm. This position has a pay rate of $23.24/hr. This position requires a New Mexico Level II Certification in Wastewater.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• A valid Drivers License
• New Mexico Level II Certification in Wastewater
• 2+ years experience operating wastewater treatment facilities

Responsibilities

• Operates pumps, engines, and generators to control and adjust flow and processing of influent, effluent and sludge
• Monitors gauges, meters, and control panels
• Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings
• Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control
• Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings
• Takes samples and performs laboratory tests and analyses
• Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties
• Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner
• Performs other duties as assigned
