Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to obtain water/wastewater certification
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance, process control, or mechanical systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of safety practices and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
  • Operator certification (or ability to obtain based on role and location)
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry, internet use)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous water/wastewater experience is a plus—but not required

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor treatment equipment including pumps, motors, valves, belt presses, and disinfection systems
  • Perform routine process checks, sampling, and basic lab testing to ensure compliance and performance
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and assist with repairs on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems
  • Track and document plant performance, including flows, chemical usage, and system data
  • Respond to after-hours calls and emergency situations to keep operations running smoothly
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and secure facility environment
  • Support customer service needs as required
