About The Position

Operators Unlimited is seeking a Wastewater Operations Specialist to join their growing Operations team. This role will be instrumental in transforming how customers treat their waste across South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. The primary responsibility includes operating a customer treatment plant in Rock Hill, SC, and contributing to the company's mission of Transformation. Requirements

  • A high school diploma required
  • Basic experience in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in applicable federal, state, and local wastewater policies and procedures
  • At least a B Physical/Chemical Wastewater License
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Must be able to position self to analyze and review equipment by stooping, bending, and kneeling
  • Must be able to occasionally ascend/descend ladders and steps to service a plant
  • Must be able to walk through large facilities
  • Must be able to work in environmental settings

Responsibilities

  • Operating a customer treatment plant in Rock Hill, SC
  • Responding to customers and opportunities with thankfulness
  • Working with the Director of Wastewater Operations and other team members to ensure customer compliance
  • Focusing on improvements and growth in all aspects of the position and business
  • Understanding SDS and utilizing appropriate PPE and safety equipment
  • Understanding the pH scale, calibrating pH meters, and adjusting pH with limited assistance
  • Proper records documentation including flow reports, logbooks, rounds sheets, timesheets, and mileage
  • Understanding basic p/c and/or biological treatment functions (pH adjustment, coagulation, flocculation, clarification)
  • Operating various treatment processes (DAF, Hydroxide Precipitation, Extended Air, etc.) with assistance
  • Basic understanding of discharge permits
  • Operating/understanding chemical feed systems and troubleshooting with assistance
  • Using Service Fusion, Acumatica, and other systems with limited errors
  • Acting with agility in responding to customer needs, including off-shift and weekend hours as required
  • Running wastewater treatment plants within permit limits
  • Communicating with the Director of Wastewater to ensure compliance and improvements
  • Working with the OU team to help grow the company
