About The Position

Darigold is looking for a motivated Wastewater Operations Engineer to join the Darigold Team in Boise, Idaho. The Wastewater Operations Engineer is responsible for compliance monitoring and operational management of the wastewater treatment facility. The position also reviews and reports permit compliance data and ensures any operational issues or concerns, which may impact system performance or discharge compliance, are promptly reported to the Senior Director of Environmental Compliance and the Boise Plant Site Director.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and follow technical procedures and scientific methods
  • Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision and perform multiple tasks
  • Willing to respond to problems on off hours when necessary
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Able to stand and walk throughout a 10-hour shift (occasionally)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical skills typical of an entry level engineer.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to meet performance standards under guidance from management team
  • Ability to meet attendance and punctuality standards
  • Ability and willingness to learn technical processes and procedures
  • Ability to work safety around various hazards including working from heights, working with hazardous chemicals, working around mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • 3+ years Industrial or municipal wastewater experience
  • 4-year technical degree (engineering or science preferred)

  • Anaerobic digester experience
  • Dairy food plant experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of wastewater treatment plant operation.
  • Supervise wastewater operators and external support services.
  • Develop clear plans, programs, and procedures as needed.
  • Oversee plant maintenance tasks and maintenance service contracts.
  • Assist with sample collection and analysis per established procedures.
  • Ensures accurate assessment and documentation of process control data.
  • Collects, collates, and enters compliance data into spreadsheets and reports.
  • Monitors treatment performance remotely (as needed). Responds to problems.
  • Provides clear and concise communications and system updates to the environmental team and corporate management teams.
