About The Position

This position is responsible to maintain and troubleshoot all waste treatment portions with minimal supervision. Maintain supply water to the degree of purity specified. Keep outgoing waste water within environmental regulatory limits. Prepares hazardous waste for treatment or shipment to a designated facility. Provides technical support and regulatory information of environmental operations and water supplies. This position is eligible for a 90 Day Evaluation that includes a pay increase if key performance indicators are met.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have an experienced safe driving record.
  • Ability to work overtime and is flexible to work weekends when necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sit or stand for up to 10 hours a day.

Nice To Haves

  • Typically High School Diploma or equivalent with some technical training.
  • Plating experience and chemical handling experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Operates in accordance with all local, State and Federal regulations.
  • Performs routine and as needed analysis of solutions from the waste treatment system.
  • Manages hazardous waste.
  • Generates, accumulates, manifests, ships, and handles hazardous wastes generated in daily operations, as directed by the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager.
  • Repairs and maintains process equipment.
  • Ability to maintain and manage home system with supervision.
  • Works effectively and responsibly with others.
  • Drive a fork lift in a safe manner.
  • Responsible to be available and willing to be a facility sweeper and/or emergency responder.
  • All other assigned duties as required within the EHS organization.
  • Accomplish all job related paperwork in the most accurate, timely and ethical manner.
  • Communicates regularly to supervisors/managers, suggests procedural changes, maintains a clean, safe work environment and communicates to supervisors/managers safety hazards and issues.
  • Properly handle and dispose all waste, including hazardous wastes that are generated in daily operations as directed by the EHS department.
  • Responsible to report all accidents, near misses, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
  • Perform job duties utilizing the required and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Full participation in safety training and the ability to understand and follow directions identified in the Job Safety Analysis (JSA), PPE Assessments, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and all Safety Procedures and Alerts.
