About The Position

The Doe Run Company is seeking a Waste Water Treatment Tech to do neutralization of BSN effluent acid and operating the wastewater treatment system to ensure plant effluent water meets all regulatory standards. This rotating position will be located at The Buick Resource Recycling Facility in Boss, MO.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
Minimum three years of related industrial experience
Mobile equipment certification.
Basic mechanical skills.
Basic math skills
Knowledge of material loading and unloading procedures.
Basic knowledge of chemical terminology.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Working knowledge of environmental standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

Operate the wastewater treatment plant by monitoring chemical usage, water pH, and impoundment water level to ensure effluent meets water quality standards.
Monitor plant water level in tanks and ponds and discharge as necessary to maintain plant wide water balance.
Monitoring acid tank levels, transferring acid, and neutralizing the BSN effluent acid and operate filter presses.
Perform pre-shift inspection on machinery and equipment.
Tighten, lubricate, and clean (TLC) and make minor repairs and replacements.
Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health and safety) policies, procedures and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
