About The Position

This position involves performing operational maintenance on all water treatment systems, monitoring the wastewater treatment plant, identifying needed changes and potential problems, and making necessary adjustments. The role includes performing chemical analysis of water samples, cleaning drain pads, and operating a computer to monitor pump stations, plant operations, and alarms. Daily records and shift logs of plant operations are maintained, and readings from meters, computers, and instruments are reviewed. The operator will also function as a yard jockey, driving a wastewater truck, and oversee the operation of pre-treatment equipment, as well as the proper operation of rendering and Offal equipment. Cross-training and learning all tasks in the department are expected, along with performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must be 18 years old or older.
Ability to obtain a Wastewater Operator's license.
Valid Driver’s license, High School Diploma/GED.
Ability to maintain equipment after training.
Excellent attendance record.
Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform operational maintenance on all water treatment systems.
Pump blood from kill room.
Monitors wastewater treatment plant and identifies needed changes and potential problems; makes necessary adjustments.
Performs chemical analysis of water samples.
Cleans drain pads.
Operates a computer to monitor pump stations, plant operations, and alarms.
Maintains daily records and shift logs of plant operations.
Reviews readings from meters, computers, and instruments.
Yard jockey - drives wastewater truck.
Oversees the operation of per-treatment equipment.
Ensure the Proper operation of rendering and Offal equipment.
Be willing to cross train and learn all task in department.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
