Waste Water Operator 1 (Night Shift)
About The Position
This position involves performing operational maintenance on all water treatment systems, including monitoring the wastewater treatment plant, making necessary adjustments, and performing chemical analysis of water samples. The role also includes operating a computer to monitor pump stations and plant operations, maintaining daily records, reviewing readings from various instruments, and operating a wastewater truck. Additionally, the operator will oversee the operation of pre-treatment, rendering, and Offal equipment, and must be willing to cross-train and learn all tasks within the department. Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- Ability to obtain a Wastewater Operator's license.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Ability to maintain equipment after training.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform operational maintenance on all water treatment systems.
- Pump blood from kill room.
- Monitors wastewater treatment plant and identifies needed changes and potential problems; makes necessary adjustments.
- Performs chemical analysis of water samples.
- Cleans drain pads.
- Operates a computer to monitor pump stations, plant operations, and alarms.
- Maintains daily records and shift logs of plant operations.
- Reviews readings from meters, computers, and instruments.
- Yard jockey - drives wastewater truck.
- Oversees the operation of per-treatment equipment.
- Ensure the Proper operation of rendering and Offal equipment.
- Be willing to cross train and learn all task in department.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
