About The Position

Omega Technical Services is seeking a Waste Management Non-Destructive Assay (NDA) Engineer to provide technical oversight of NDA activities supporting transuranic (TRU), low-level waste (LLW), and mixed low-level waste (MLLW) characterization at the Radioactive Waste Management Complex (RWMC). The position serves as an NDA Expert Technical Reviewer within the Waste Management TRU Program Organization, ensuring measurement quality, system reliability, and compliance with applicable standards and waste acceptance requirements. The position is on-site in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and follows a four-day, 10-hour-per-day schedule, Monday through Thursday. The position is contingent upon contract award and/or project funding; employment offers and start dates depend on successful contract award, funding authorization, and client approval. The role includes reviewing and improving NDA systems, procedures, software, and measurement data; overseeing instruments and supporting their calibration, operation, troubleshooting, and repair; and validating waste characterization information and reports. The engineer supports waste disposition and disposal activities, compliance with DOE, EPA, and WIPP requirements, audits and surveillance, criticality safety, procedure maintenance, and staff training. The position also requires adherence to environmental, safety, health, quality, security, pollution prevention, emergency response, and conduct-of-operations requirements.
