About The Position
Fermilab is seeking a Waste Coordinator to perform assigned tasks involved in carrying out and monitoring the Laboratory's Environmental, Safety, Health, and/or Quality Assurance (ESH&QA) programs in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, requirements and standards and all Department of Energy (DOE) orders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in or related field and 6 months experience.
- Computer skills required for database entry and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
- Entering and maintaining records on a variety of databases and generating reports; developing and modifying reports as assigned.
- Conducting basic ESH and/or QA inspections and investigations.
- Taking samples for environmental or industrial hygiene monitoring as assigned.
- Reviewing safety plans and procedures for completeness and accuracy; making recommendations for changes and improvements.
- Acting as a liaison with areas’ safety representatives and vendors.
- Providing established ESH and/or QA new employee orientation and other ESH and/or QA training.
- May serve on an ESH and/or QA subcommittee.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Abiding by and being responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.
