About The Position

The Waste & Recycle Driver in Denali National Park has a Class A CDL and drives a tractor trailer, 1or 2-ton truck, or other large vessel hauling vehicle. Drivers in this position are required to operate an efficient, consistent, safe, and timely service. About Denali National Park & Preserve and Doyon/Aramark Joint Venture:​  Summer days in Alaska stretch nearly endlessly, with up to 20 hours of daylight on the Summer Solstice. Spanning 6.2 million acres, Denali National Park & Preserve is home to Denali, the highest peak in North America, and attracts over half a million visitors annually. Conveniently accessible by road—4.5 hours from Anchorage and 2 hours from Fairbanks.  Doyon Limited and Aramark have teamed up in a Joint Venture as the Denali National Park & Preserve's Concessionaire. Open May to September, our operation manages the transportation, retail, guest service and food and beverage concessions with our client; The National Park Service. By road, our 100 Blue Bird Bus Fleet takes guests past the 15-mile public access point daily during summer months, allowing people to hike, view wildlife, climb, and camp where few people have set foot.  This is a seasonal role with ideal dates of April 16 - October 7, 2026.  We offer competitive wages, paid Holidays, Sick Pay and Benefits Stipend. Requirements

  • One year (non-consecutive) experience as a CDL driver required.
  • Must be age 23 years or older.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
  • Must have a valid Commercial Driver License (Class A) ideally with passenger endorsement and a clean driving record showing 5 years of prior safe driving.
  • Must pass a DOT physical examination and obtain a medical card.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol test and participate in the random drug/alcohol testing pool
  • Must complete and pass Defensive Driving Course prior to driving a company vehicle 1 year + professional driving experience

Responsibilities

  • Must complete a daily vehicle inspection form prior to driving.
  • Works with the Recycle workers to move Recycled items (Plastic, Cardboard, Trash, Glass, Aluminum, Straps) from park disposal locations and brings to Recycling shed for proper disposal.
  • May be asked to assist in the sorting of recycled materials.
  • Ensure a pleasant and clean atmosphere is always maintained in the vehicle.
  • Utilize all safety equipment available, always wear a seat belt when driving.
  • Operate garbage truck, tow truck, hauling trailers and a 2-ton truck or 1-ton truck transporting supplies and equipment to and from designated locations.
  • Drivers are required to drive defensively, safely, and cautiously always and in all situations.
  • Exceptional customer service skills are needed when encountering guests; to ensure a good positive representation of Aramark and Denali National Park.
  • Fuel, clean and inspect vehicle when required, report malfunctions to Transportation Office
  • Drivers must ensure all vehicle log books are completed including rider-ship information log.
  • Work with Transportation Office dispatcher ensuring any special requests.
  • Drivers may be required to serve as warehouse drivers transporting and delivering equipment and other supplies.
  • Drivers must be aware of SDS sheets and books and read and use this information when necessary.
  • Identify maintenance and safety issues and take the correct steps to correct them.
  • Maintain a positive attitude always be willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed
  • Attend all scheduled department and safety meetings.
  • Know and comply with all company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, emergencies, and energy.
  • Report to work on time and in complete uniform
  • Other duties as assigned.
