About The Position

The Washer Operator is responsible for the set-up, operation, and performance of all vial washers and component sterilizers. This role ensures all equipment is operated efficiently, safely, and consistently. The operator will load glass and plastic vials onto the vial washer, monitor washing progress, and perform changeovers as required by the production schedule. Additionally, the position involves supporting equipment after production runs, performing daily and weekly cleaning as per SOPs, and accurately separating and labeling waste. Overtime may be required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Good communication and documentation skills required.
  • Comprehends basic math, reading and basic mechanical adjustments.
  • Must be able to lift successive vial pans weighing approximately 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, and reach while palletizing vial pans weighing approximately 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up, operation, and performance of all vial washers and component sterilizers.
  • Operate all equipment used in these areas efficiently, safely, and consistently.
  • Load glass and plastic vials onto vial washer infeed and monitor performance of washing progress.
  • Perform changeover of vial washer as required per production schedule.
  • Perform tasks requested by supervision.
  • Wear appropriate safety equipment (i.e., safety glasses/shoes).
  • Adhere to mid-level gowning requirements.
  • Follow all required SOPs/GMPs/safety requirements during execution of daily duties.
  • Responsible for good documentation practices.
  • Responsible for restocking production supplies.
  • Assure that the batch record folder is correctly documented, and that all checks are performed per SOP.
  • Verify and check the sterilizer cycle according to the SOP Standards.
  • Load applicable sterilizers as necessary.
  • Responsible for support equipment after the completion of the production run.
  • Perform the daily and weekly cleaning of the area as specified in the SOP.
  • Accurately separate and label any waste.
  • Work overtime as needed.
