About The Position
The Washbay Attendant role is a utility position responsible for supporting shop operations through a variety of tasks. This role requires flexibility as duties can change daily, including painting, cleaning buses and motorcoaches, assisting with inventory, and supporting mechanics. The Washbay Attendant works under the direction of the Shop Foreman and contributes to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient shop environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely
- Willingness to perform a variety of tasks and learn new skills
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Physical ability to lift, bend, and perform manual labor
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a shop, maintenance, or custodial environment preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning of motorcoaches and school buses, including interiors and exteriors
- Assist with painting and touch-up work on vehicles and equipment
- Support mechanics with basic maintenance tasks as directed
- Help maintain accurate inventory of parts, tools, and supplies
- Organize and clean the shop area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
- Perform general shop duties such as moving vehicles, disposing of waste, and stocking supplies
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when operating tools and equipment
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman
