About The Position
The Wash Plant Operator is responsible for operations of the wash plant function and monitoring. Employees are expected to operate all equipment in a safe manner. As a result, basic mechanical skills are required for maintenance of equipment and assistance to overall plant maintenance.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED
- Capable of lifting 75 lbs.
- Basic mechanical skills
- Able and willing to work extended work schedules, overtime, weekends, and call ins, as necessary
- Understand and comply with mining safety and environmental regulations
Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain equipment
- Repair equipment
- Operation and knowledge of wash plant startup/shutdown procedures
- Grease machinery weekly
- Replace wear parts (screens, paddles, etc.)
- Clean debris from conveyor belt and around machinery
- Safely operate Wash Plant to produce aggregate as specified by supervisor
- Reports to shop when equipment needs maintenance and repair that he/she cannot do safely and effectively
- Works closely with other crew members to coordinate work and ensure safety
- Running equipment and loading when necessary
- Maintains orderliness, cleanliness and safety at job site
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Perform other duties as assigned
