About The Position
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Assists in oversight of the operation of our warming station, a wintry weather emergency shelter for our homeless neighbors.
Requirements
- 21+ years of age
- Passionate about working with adults in a diverse environment
- Ability to pass all state required clearances & background check
Nice To Haves
- Associate or Bachelor degree preferred or college credits from an accredited college or university in human services or social work, preferred
Responsibilities
- Ensure safety, security, and supervision of guests and facilities during operational hours, including overnight monitoring and building walkthroughs
- Support daily operations by assisting with guest intake/outtake, administering breaks, and enforcing station rules and policies
- Assists in completion of required guest intake paperwork
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility, including laundry, supply restocking, and custodial duties
- Provide positive guest interaction and support, while remaining available and adaptable to perform additional duties as needed
