About The Position

The Warehouser/Material Handler moves products such as Lay's, Doritos, and Cheetos through the warehouse accurately and carefully so stores receive the correct products. The role is based in Portsmouth, Virginia, and works Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, starting at 2:00 PM; the end time varies based on business needs. The position is a fast-paced, hands-on role involving product movement throughout the shift. Training is provided through hands-on and classroom instruction. The employee will receive training to safely operate a forklift and must obtain certification. Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must work weekends, holidays, and off shifts.
Ability to lift 15 to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Willingness and ability to work at heights using ladders or lifts to access areas of the plant.
Willingness and ability to work in extreme temperatures, humidity, and around hazardous or loud equipment and slippery surfaces.
Must obtain forklift certification after employer-provided training.

Responsibilities

Load and unload pallets and individual cases to and from trailers.
Pick appropriate cases according to orders using required technology.
Safely operate a forklift after receiving training and obtaining certification.
Load trailers using carts or stack cases on the floor of a truck trailer.
Maintain general housekeeping and complete specific sanitation tasks as required.
