About The Position

This position is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing parts, PO’s, and other materials to internal and external customers while maintaining 100% accurate inventory. Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site. Verifies material received to determine physical variances in order and inspects articles, rejecting defective ones. Moves freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using pallet jacks, forklifts, or other equipment. Sorts cargo before loading and unloading, and stacks cargo in locations such as transit sheds or in holds of ships as directed, using pallets or cargo boards. Attaches identifying tags to containers or marks them with identifying information. Installs protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported. Reads work orders or receives oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs. Attaches slings, hooks, or other devices to lift cargo and guides loads. Updates inventory locations in ERP system. Picks up product by monitoring production, loading and moving product. Stores product by designating storage areas, adjusting storage areas according to production and shipping requirements, and updating the location database. Prepares product for shipment by verifying location, directing movement to staging area, and resolving problems. Verifies product inventory reports by comparing logs and reports, and adjusting entries. Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records, and maintaining databases. Monitors inventory by completing counts as required. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Accomplishes distribution and organization mission by completing related results as needed. Makes transactions in SAP and other electronic media to maintain traceability and audit trail. Makes changes as necessary to receiving as per Corporate Approval Limits (CAL) and manager approval. Communicates discrepancies in inventory to manager for approval.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years of experience in warehouse operations
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish relationships with internal and external customers in a warehouse setting
  • Solid data entry and record keeping skills
  • Experience with shipping procedures and vendor practices
  • Forklift driver’s license
  • SAP knowledge
  • Microsoft excel and word intermediate user
  • Excellent Customer Service and multi-tasking skills
  • High attention to detail and precise data entry/record keeping
  • Thorough knowledge of all computer systems, procedures, and service operations
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds from floor to waist
  • Must be able to perform single-handed carry up to 15 pounds
  • Must be able to perform two-handed carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to operate motor vehicles with current valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to walk on various terrain
