Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Ability to operate Company vehicles and machinery
  • Ability to lift seventy (70) lbs unaided
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use tact, good judgement and initiative
  • Capable of expressing self in a clear and pleasant manner
  • Ability to work under pressure with a minimum of supervision
  • Ability to efficiently use the Company's automated cargo tracking and accounting system post-training
  • Adhere to Air Canada's uniform guide and grooming standards
  • Ability to meet Air Canada medical standards through a medical examination
  • Employment is subject to meeting US Custom & Boarder Protection (USCBP) requirements for obtaining both a Customs Seal and an Airport ID Badge
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidates must be available for shift work in a 24/7 operational environment, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays

Responsibilities

  • Handle cargo operations including building/breaking down pallets and ULDs, loading/unloading trucks, and storing cargo/COMAT in designated areas with proper documentation.
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts and company vehicles to move cargo/mail/COMAT safely and efficiently.
  • Process shipments, including hazardous/restricted materials in compliance with company and government regulations.
  • Provide customer service by responding to inquiries from the public, outside airlines, agencies, and internal staff.
  • Support operational continuity by making decisions in the absence of leadership, communicating procedural updates, ensuring supply availability, and compiling statistical data.
  • Investigate and report on damaged or incomplete shipments and complete necessary documentation as required.
