About The Position

The Warehouse position is responsible for shipping and receiving products. This role involves inspecting incoming loads, recording discrepancies, racking and replenishing products, selecting product orders, and performing quality control on completed orders before distribution. The position also requires identifying and classifying food and grocery products, weighing and counting sorted and unsorted food boxes, and assisting in inventory. The Warehouse team member acts as an ambassador for the San Antonio Food Bank and is responsible for maintaining assigned aisle and warehouse cleaning tasks, assisting in pest control, and ensuring the white band area is clean and free of obstruction. Equipment inspection prior to use and acceptance of additional duties as assigned are also part of the role. Applicants are required to submit to a drug test as part of the hiring process.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent preferred
  • Material handling, forklift, pallet jack experience required
  • Ability to successfully obtain internal certification within 30 days
  • Able to lift and or move up to 50 pounds
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and the meeting of deadlines
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Available to work various hours of operation including early mornings, evenings and weekends based on business needs
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

  • Shipping and receiving products
  • Inspect incoming loads prior to unloading to ensure proper temperature, no signs of pest activity and cleanliness of truck
  • Record any discrepancy on receiving log
  • Rack and replenish products as needed
  • Select product orders and quality control completed orders before distribution
  • Identify and classify food and grocery products using warehouse stock classification list
  • Weigh, count and record amount of sorted and unsorted food boxes, received or distributed, to ensure conformance with invoices and bills of lading
  • Assist in conducting inventory
  • Act as an ambassador of the San Antonio Food Bank when conducting business with donors, potential donors, partner agencies and donation recipients
  • Maintain assigned aisle and warehouse cleaning task
  • Assist in pest control and ensures white band area is clean and free of obstruction
  • Inspect equipment prior to use
  • Accept additional duties as assigned
