About The Position

The warehouse worker operates under the supervision of a team leader/supervisor and is primarily responsible for the receiving, sorting, storing, taking inventory, picking, auditing, packing, and shipping of merchandise. The warehouse worker is also responsible for operating equipment such as radio frequency scanners, sit-down forklifts, and stand-up forklifts. Some warehouse workers must operate powered equipment that is required to move or transport cargo. Radio frequency scanners are required for all warehouse worker positions.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Ability to lift up to 90 pounds with a fellow warehouse worker.
  • Must operate radio frequency scanners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating sit-down forklift.
  • Experience operating stand-up forklift.
  • Experience operating powered equipment for moving or transporting cargo.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, sorting, storing, taking inventory, picking, auditing, packing, and shipping of merchandise.
  • Operating equipment such as radio frequency scanners, sit-down forklift and stand-up forklift.
  • Operating powered equipment to move or transport cargo.
  • Receiving goods delivered to the warehouse for storage.
  • Unloading merchandise from trucks and checking to ensure that they match with the delivery documents.
  • Verifying that goods are intact and reporting any defects or discrepancies of stock items.
  • Sorting deliveries and grouping the same type of products together.
  • Tagging (labeling) stock items.
  • Implementing the best method and location for storage in the warehouse depending on the product/goods.
  • Storing goods according to the designated system of storage in the warehouse.
  • Performing daily cycle counts on all product locations that were touched the previous day.
  • Updating the warehouse manager and the customer on the availability of stock.
  • Filling orders by retrieving items from their various storage locations and assembling them in a carton or on a pallet.
