About The Position

Performs duties associated with the physical receipt, transfer, and corresponding BaaN transactions for all raw materials and finished goods that flow through NAI. By the end of the orientation period, must have knowledge of and competently perform duties related to the specific position assigned. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • English literacy, including the ability to read, speak, and write English.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Computer competency.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Forklift certified.
  • At least one year of previous warehouse experience, preferably in manufacturing within the food, pharmaceutical, or nutraceutical industries.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs.

Responsibilities

  • Follows work orders or oral instructions to determine materials or containers to be moved.
  • Receives, opens, and stores incoming materials and components and maintains receiving inbound inventory.
  • Loads, unloads, and packs materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, shelves, and conveyor systems by hand or using packaging equipment. Secures product in cartons using filler materials and sealing tape.
  • Counts, weighs, and records the number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheets or manifest entries.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
  • Safely operates industrial truck, electric hoist, or pallet jack to assist in loading materials and products.
  • Lifts heavy materials by hand or with power hoist.
  • Cleans and maintains work areas, machines, and equipment.
  • Inspects powered equipment prior to the beginning of the shift.
  • Attends all company training sessions.
  • Meets performance standards for quality, productivity, reliability, initiative, safety, and work relationships.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and state, federal, and local laws.
  • Fully complies with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and health and safety regulations.
  • Completes the daily inspection of powered equipment such as forklifts, power pallet jacks, and order pickers.
  • Inspects trailer prior to unloading following the Trailer Inspection Checklist, noting any damage to containers.
  • Unwraps all pallets to inspect for damage to individual containers.
  • Receives materials being delivered to NAI by vendor lot number, including entry and receipt into dock log and BaaN.
  • Attaches barcode labels to all individually received material containers and delivers appropriate materials and documentation to Quality group.
  • Handles inbound process of released materials from receiving dock to main warehouse.
  • Performs material selection for production batches and transfers batches to process operators in the Manufacturing Suites.
  • Reports batch completions into inventory and removes materials from inventory for use on sales orders when requested.
  • Prepares and transfers blended materials from main warehouse to Manufacturing, Packaging, or Shipping Department.
  • Transfers and returns raw material partials from Packaging and Manufacturing Suites to the appropriate warehouse.
  • Verifies product bulk from encapsulation, tableting, and coating and properly stores until released from Quality.
  • Once released, moves product to assigned location or warehouse.
  • From Material Pick List, selects materials for packaging batches and transfers batches to plastic pallets prior to staging for the packaging floor.
  • Requests, prepares, and transfers QA-approved bulk from Manufacturing to Packaging.
  • Processes packaging run returns back into inventory.
  • From Material Pick List, selects raw material powders and capsules for Production using First In, First Out picking strategy, loading materials on plastic pallets.
  • Stages picked raw material powders for Weighing Department and moves capsules to the Production Floor, providing batch identification labels for each pallet staged.
  • Transfers the material to the Weighing Department using an RF Scanner.
  • Verifies the Customer Order using the Order Acknowledgement form to determine the size of the order for space requirements.
  • Retrieves completed pallets from the Packaging Department and processes by strapping and wrapping.
  • Following strapping and wrapping, stages the order in the designated area awaiting pickup.
  • When the truck arrives, loads the truck, following SOP processes for trailer inspection and shipping an outbound order, following specific customer specifications and labeling.
  • Transacts the order in BaaN and completes any post-shipment communication to Client Service, Planners, and Customer representatives.
  • Follows the schedule set forth by the Planning Department for the shipment of raw materials and packaging components to outside vendors for sales order fulfillment or processes required in the production process.
  • Picks materials and stages for shipment based on the direction of the Planner’s kitting email.
  • Generates a Packing List and Bill of Lading for the individual shipment.
  • Communicates to the Inventory Control Department, sending a file copy of the Packing List and Bill of Lading.
  • When the truck arrives, loads truck, following the SOP process for outbound order processing.
  • Performs daily inspections of the truck using the approved checklist.
  • Operates the truck on material movements to and from Vista 1 and Vista 2.
  • Loads and unloads truck using a power pallet jack.
  • Skills include proper backing into a dock, proper braking with a load, and dock parking, including chocking the wheels.
  • Must have the ability to drive on streets and highways, paying particular attention to making proper turns and maintaining lane centering.
  • From the direction of the Purchasing Department, receives the document titled Advice of Product Return for Credit and works with the Quality Department to locate the material.
  • Follows the disposition instructed by Purchasing and takes the material to the Shipping Department if being returned, or disposes of the material properly if being scrapped.
  • If shipping material back, contacts Purchasing to inform them of pallet count, dimensions, and weight so a pickup can be arranged.
  • Loads the truck upon arrival and fills out the Shipping Department portion of the Purchasing Document.
  • Signed document, along with shipping paperwork, is sent to Accounting.
  • A copy of the completed Advice of Product Return for Credit is retained in the Shipping Department files.
  • Other duties as assigned by Warehouse Supervisor, including but not limited to unloading trucks, cleaning the warehouse, maintaining forklift, pallet jack, and cleaning logs, preparing and moving material to Vista 2 building, and any activity supporting NAI operations.
