About The Position

The Warehouse Worker carries out various warehousing duties such as inventory control, quality inspections, packing/organizing, and transporting as directed by Warehouse Manager, Supervisor, or lead(s). This position may be seasonal or year-round, depending on department and company needs.

Requirements

  • Work a 40-hour workweek. Overtime will be paid for hours worked over 40 per workweek.
  • During harvest must be able to work ten-hour days, seven days a week.
  • Physically able to operate a forklift, walk around the facility, climb on and off equipment, and lift up to 75 pounds (with or without assistance).
  • Must comply with all John I. Haas, Inc. policies and procedures, including successful passing of a pre-employment background check and drug test.
  • Must comply with our Integrated Management System (IMS) and be trained on procedures applicable to the requirements of the position, including managing significant quality, environmental, and food safety aspects.
  • Current Forklift certification and training.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of hop industry.
  • Previous warehouse experience (required for consideration of year-round employment)

  • Previous work experience driving trucks
  • Previous experience working with hops
  • Previous warehouse experience (preferred for consideration of seasonal employment)

Responsibilities

  • Safely load and unload product(s)
  • Operate forklift to stack hops in warehouses and load trucks
  • Drive small flatbed trucks to transfer product(s) between Haas facilities/locations (FT year round employees only)
  • Organize and sort items according to company standards
  • Monitor and report any missing or lost inventory to management
  • Counting and weighing bales.
  • Inspection of raw hops to ensure proper quality and no irregularities
  • Properly pack items to be shipped according to company standards to ensure they arrive in excellent condition
  • Scan labels to ensure product(s) are being stored and/or shipped to the right destination
  • Other duties as assigned.
