This position is responsible for operating a baler machine to secure, package, and bind large volumes of clothing. It involves loading and unloading trucks, performing heavy lifting regularly, and assisting in maintaining the neatness and orderliness of the warehouse area. The role also includes receiving, sorting, pricing, and preparing donated items for display, determining their suitability and pricing based on established standards. The Warehouse Worker will assist with sorting donations, moving them and other materials into the warehouse, and aiding in the set-up, clean-up, and breakdown of the warehouse. Additionally, the position may involve acting as a Truck Helper, assisting with picking up donations by riding on a Salvation Army truck, lifting, carrying, and hauling donations, and unloading them at the warehouse. This includes assisting the Truck Driver with navigation, ensuring the accountability, security, and safety of donations, and helping maintain the vehicle. The role also entails receiving, storing, and distributing donations, daily loading and unloading, and placement of donated items into the warehouse. A key aspect is the ability to successfully interface with the public and Salvation Army donors in various settings. The position supports community drives like can food drives, coat drives, and toy drives, as well as moving operations, and requires adherence to Salvation Army policies and procedures. The individual must be willing to work with children.
