About The Position

The Warehouse Worker is responsible for various warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, putaway, replenishment, item demand, consolidation, count checks, and loading/unloading of trucks. This role is crucial for the efficient operation of the warehouse and ensuring timely delivery of goods.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience working in a warehouse environment preferred.
  • Proficient in the operation of Powered Industrial Trucks such as stand-up reach truck or other industrial equipment (e.g., double pallet jack) preferred.
  • Warehouse Management System (e.g., WMS-HighJump/PeopleSoft) experience preferred.
  • Experience with RF or Voice devices preferred.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and professional interactive skills.
  • Ability to effectively prepare and present reports and information.
  • Ability to respond to questions from suppliers, customers, management, and inter-department staff.
  • Understanding of team dynamics and ability to work well within a team structure.
  • Capability to work with internal staff from other departments and shifts proactively and constructively.
  • Ability to build working relationships with internal business partners, vendors, and customers.
  • Planning/Organization skills: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities/deadlines and shift priorities as necessary. Uses time effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Unloading & loading of shipments using various powered industrial equipment.
  • Inspecting, counting, and examining all shipments for damages and/or discrepancies against Purchase Orders (POs).
  • Documenting all overages, shortages, and damages.
  • Ensuring all necessary signatures are obtained on driver paperwork before release.
  • Wrapping pallets by machine or hand for stability.
  • Loading outbound shipments safely and securely to prevent damage.
  • Conveying items from receiving or staging areas to designated storage locations (Home, Overflow, or Bulk).
  • Replenishing, managing item demand, performing count checks, and consolidating items to maximize warehouse space.
  • Receiving product in accordance with correct associated PO numbers and completing discrepancy forms.
  • Breaking down and separating product by specific item numbers.
  • Selecting various orders within the warehouse and stacking product on pallets for outbound staging.
  • Checking pallets for errors and adjusting pallet quantities for even weight distribution.
  • Maintaining warehouse housekeeping and adhering to all safety regulations and standards.
